Sep 30, 2005 New alternate gene name: nat. New protein name: arylamine N-acetyltransferase. New protein name confidence: Class 1. New alternate protein name: NAT. New evidence reference (PMID: 15447630). New homology: 50% similar to nat protein [Mycobacterium smegmatis] ; 43% similar to nat protein [Mesorhizobium loti] ; 43% similar to nat protein [Mycobacterium tuberculosis]. New comment: PA4827 has been cloned, expressed, characterised and crystallised. The crystal structure (PDB 1w4t) shows very similar fold to the nat protein from M. smegmatis, with rmsd of 1.3 Angstroms over 240 equivalent atoms.
